About the role

At the heart of MIB’s mission lies a commitment to keeping our organisation, and the people who rely on us, safe from ever‑evolving cyber threats. As our Cyber Security Manager, you’ll play a pivotal role in strengthening our defences, reinforcing our cyber security frameworks, and safeguarding our reputation through proactive, intelligent risk management.

In this high‑impact leadership role, you’ll oversee both Security Operations and Security Engineering, guide a talented team of cyber experts, and take command of our cyber incident response strategy. Your expertise will ensure we stay resilient, compliant, and always one step ahead.

Collaboration is key: you’ll work closely with IT, Legal, Compliance and other teams across MIB, bringing strong leadership, sharp insight and a passion for cultivating a culture where cyber security awareness thrives.

Key responsibilities 

  • Security Operations Oversight Oversee daily security operations, including monitoring, threat analysis, and vulnerability management, with regular oversight by and reporting to the Head of Information Security and ODT Governance and Executive Security Steering Group (ESSG).
  • Compliance and Risk Management Working with Group Privacy Office (GPO), Risk and Audit functions to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards. Supporting the Head of Information Security and ODT Governance in conducting regular risk assessments. Ensuring that Cyber security controls map to risk appetite and requirements.
  • Strategic Planning Support the Head of Information Security and ODT Governance on the development and implementation of strategic cyber security plans to enhance MIB’s cyber posture and resilience.
  • Operational Resilience Identify Operational Resilience efforts within Cyber Security to support MIB.
  • Incident Response Management: Lead and coordinate from a Cyber Security perspective the Cyber incident response efforts, ensuring timely and effective resolution of cyber security incidents.
  • Budget Management The Cyber Security Manager will play a crucial role in supporting the Head of Information Security and ODT Governance to effectively manage the budget. This includes cyber resource management, identifying cost-saving opportunities, managing cyber vendor relationships, aligned with MIB’s long-term security goals.

Skills and Experience 

  • Proven experience in leading, managing, and developing multi-disciplinary cyber teams including Security Operations and Security Engineering. This includes the ability to mentor and guide team members, fostering a collaborative and high-performance environment.
  • Experience in budget management and control.
  • Understanding of the ever-changing cyber threat landscape and the ability to use this knowledge to protect MIB.
  • Extensive experience in Cyber security incident response leadership. This includes coordinating and managing incident response efforts, ensuring timely and effective resolution of cyber incidents.
  • Relevant advanced security qualifications such as CISM, CISSP, GIAC. Vendor-specific training and qualifications for endpoint and networking security solutions are highly desirable.
  • Strong understanding of sound networking principles. This includes experience in specifying policies and operating security tool.
  • Proven experience in communicating and presenting highly complex information to internal and external stakeholders. This includes the ability to articulate cyber security concepts and strategies clearly and effectively.
  • Strong analytical and systematic thinking skills. This includes the ability to think strategically and manage complex security challenges.
