We make roads safer. We help rebuild lives. We protect people from insurance fraud.

In addition to protecting people from the harm caused by uninsured and hit-and-run drivers, we also make a wider impact through the services we provide for the insurance industry and the government.

MIB

MIB

MIB is a not-for-profit organisation founded in 1946 on the belief that no-one whose life had been changed by an uninsured driver should be left without the support they deserve. Today that has grown into a community of people and organisations tirelessly working to protect people from the devastation of uninsured and hit-and-run driving.

The Insurance Fraud Bureau is vital in the fight against insurance fraud. As a central hub for shared intelligence, we use advanced analytical software to identify connections between millions of suspicious records. Every year tens of thousands of people are targeted by fraudsters. Insurance scams are estimated to add £50 to our insurance bills every year with many offenders also linked to wider organised crime.

Delivered by MIB on behalf of the UK Government, Official Injury Claim makes it quick and easy to claim compensation after a road accident. The service means anyone injured in a road accident can now make a limited-value claim without the need for legal representation. By removing legal fees on many claims, this is expected to reduce the costs passed on to all drivers through higher insurance premiums.
