The Insurance Fraud Bureau is vital in the fight against insurance fraud. As a central hub for shared intelligence, we use advanced analytical software to identify connections between millions of suspicious records. Every year tens of thousands of people are targeted by fraudsters. Insurance scams are estimated to add £50 to our insurance bills every year with many offenders also linked to wider organised crime.

The service means anyone injured in a road accident can now make a limited-value claim without the need for legal representation. By removing legal fees on many claims, this is expected to reduce the costs passed on to all drivers through higher insurance premiums.

It is a not-for-profit company made up of non-executive directors, equally balanced to represent the claimant community and compensators.
